The practice of working from home triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic looks set to continue beyond the health crisis. The concept of Work from Home post pandemic has been met with split views from employers and employees keeping in view both human resource management and application of information technology with fine tuning of financial management implication in organizations globally.
Work from home as a concept is very important in current times. It helps to keep productivity of the employee same or even better and at the same time supports the employee for being with family or handling some personal work. Also, the employee is facing some personal or family and health related issue. Work from Home (WFH) can be a great tool for helping employee stay at home and work at the same time. in 2020, during Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic, Work from Home enabled many companies to remain productive and keep themselves relevant. Sectors like Education, IT, Management, Designing, Media etc. continued to work with the WFH option.
Based on the survey by KPMG Malaysia on the work from home recently reveals interesting facts.
65% Malaysians are WFH
This is higher than the global average 52%
57% felt lonely and isolated with WFH
69% prefer to keep the WFH option
56% of the employers are supportive of WFH
While 61% of the respondents faced challenges with network issues, 14% with communication barriers and 10% with lack of technology readiness.
